Base of Raven Cliff Falls
Shots from a hike with Darrin on Dec 5, 2013 to this VERY special place!! After hiking here, we then picked up Naturaland Trust Trail down to Julian Creek, left the trail and bushwhacked till we found an old logging road which lies to the west of Raven Cliff (the cliff ridge, not the waterfall), and followed that south, all the way down to Burgess Road where we had left a car early that morning. Very neat shuttle hike! Photos from that portion of the hike are here. .Read More

Elevation Profile of hikeYou'll notice the section between mile 7 and mile 8, labeled as "Looking for 40 footer". Darrin and I left the old logging road at that point to explore along a stream for a waterfall that a friend of his told him was there. Team Waterfall had been in that same area a week earlier looking as well. Our GPS tracks came VERY close to each other, but both times we were unable to find the waterfall. On this shot, the terrain of that one mile of looking doesn't look tough at all. Actually, it was all straight up and straight down some steep sections of hllside. See the next pic.
